What this plugin does, is that is creates 3 images on every page of your WordPress site, and populated these images ALT tags with different combinations of the following blog strings:

• Wordpress Site’s Name
• Wordpress Site’s Description
• Wordpress Page’s Title (if you are on homepage, category page or archives page)
• WordPress Post’s Title (if you are on a single post page)

The uniqueness and second benefit of this plugin is that the 3 images are also used to allow your web site visitors to increase the font size, decrease the font size or to return the font size back to the default size. This assists any visitor with any accessibility difficulties to read your web site without having to change their own browser’s viewing settings.

This plugin helps to increase your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) score by up to 5%, but it is also a fully working font re-sizer tool.

Mark’s zip file only contains the core WordPress files that have been updated, and installation is a breeze - a lot more easier that WordPress’s own upgrade instructions!!! It’s well worth a look and will save plenty of backup and upgrade administration time.

All my plugins appear to be working as expected - but it is early days.

My blog is hosted on Apache with mod_php so I also used Mark’s Feedburner fix to correct this issue.

Having researched a few sites listed below, I merged and de-duped all the recommended pinging services (ping servers) into a single list and then tested each service to see whether it accepted my ping. The results of my tests are below.

I used the Smart Update Pinger WordPress Plugin to record all the logs. This was set at 3 seconds to allow for a slow network or ping server response.

I know that my active ping service list contains some ping service broadcasters (that ping out to other ping servers) - but this was meant to just be a simple ping test to help myself optimise my WordPress pinging - and to also help other bloggers while I’m at it.

This means that I have to maintain two Google sitemaps and there is no easy way (i.e. a tool) to generate a proper sitemap for all the pages within my sites. I use the Google Sitemaps plugin for WordPress, but use another sitemap generator for my website.

What the Script does? If you do have two Google sitemaps, then I have enhanced a PHP script to read these two Google sitemaps, extract the URLs and to append/parse them into a file (called urllist.txt) that is used by Yahoo, MSN and Live sitemaps. This helps Yahoo, MSN and Windows Live Search search engine bots to find and index your site pages and aids Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as they can find all your page URLs more easily.

Also included in this version is a text file explaining the use of Yahoo’s ApplicationID and Site Explorer tools to enable you to create an easy process of informing Yahoo every time you update your urllist.txt file. If you do have two Google sitemaps, then I have enhanced a PHP script to read these two Google sitemaps, extract the URLs and to append them into Yahoo and MSN (Live Spaces) sitemaps. Both these files are identical except in name only (yahoo.txt and urllist.txt).

This helps both Yahoo and MSN find their respective sitemaps more easily and aids SEO as they can find your page URLs more easily. This approach also allows for any future changes in the specifications of Yahoo and MSN sitemaps to be easily accomodated.

You are free to download, review and use this PHP script as you so desire.

This plugin extracts the UltimateTagWarrior tags from the WordPress database and appends each of the tags URLs onto the end of the Google sitemap XML file when you execute the Google sitemaps plugin to create a new sitemap.

This plugin saves you having to manually add the URL (into the Google Sitemaps Additional Pages section) each time you use a new Ultimate Tag Warrior tag in a new post.
